IntelliCasa becomes a NICEIC approved commercial and industrial contractor

NICEIC approved contractor

IntelliCasa has been a certified NICEIC Domestic Installer for more than a decade now. Due to the increasing demand on quality assurance in the home automation market and the company’s expansion into the commercial and industrial market, IntelliCasa received also certification from NICEIC as an Approved Contractor for commercial and industrial electrical installations. By becoming a NICEIC Approved Contractor we value our customers, by assuring them that all electrical works that take place in their premises are of highest quality and follow good engineering and electrical safety practices for domestic, commercial and industrial installation work, respectively.

What means to be NICEIC Approved Contractor?

The approved contractor scheme is for electrical contractors undertaking design, installation, commissioning & maintenance of electrical installations to BS 7671.

The scheme covers:

electricians working on commercial and industrial installations

electricians working on domestic installations

electrical installation condition reporting (testing, inspection, PIRs)

street lighting installers

security systems installers

any other activity covered by BS 7671

So, when a contractor holds an Approved Contractor status, customers can be assured in the knowledge that they are employing someone who conducts quality work according to high safety standards. And, as a contractor, being part of NICEIC opens up opportunities to not only expand client bases but to benefit from training and industry knowledge.

Industry recognised assessments

NICEIC Certification is a brand of Certsure LLP, a leading Certification body accredited by UKAS. Since 1998, NICEIC Certification has provided industry-recognised assessments to the building services sector, including plumbing and heating engineers. It aims to provide the highest levels of service to installer customers through a network of NICEIC approved training and assessment centers across the UK. IntelliCasa will continue to improve the quality of services it offers to its clients, by adopting the latest industry standards, focusing on continuous training and implementing state of the art technology.

The National Inspection Council

Being a NICEIC Approved Contractor means that an electrical contractor has been certified by the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) in the UK. This certification is a mark of quality and trust, signifying that the contractor has met the stringent requirements set by the NICEIC. These requirements ensure that the contractor is competent and capable of meeting the relevant technical and safety standards.

To become an Approved Contractor, the electrical contractor must undergo a rigorous assessment process. This involves a thorough evaluation of their work, which includes inspecting a sample of the contractor’s installations, checking their premises, tools, equipment, and documentation. The assessment ensures that the contractor adheres to the national safety standards and regulations, such as the IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671). Additionally, the contractor needs to demonstrate a high level of workmanship and customer service.

Approved for peace of mind

For clients and consumers, hiring a NICEIC Approved Contractor provides peace of mind. It guarantees that the electrical work will be performed safely, professionally, and to a high standard. Furthermore, NICEIC offers a Platinum Promise, which provides assurance that any work carried out by an Approved Contractor will be rectified in the unlikely event that it does not meet the required standards. This certification helps to distinguish reputable contractors from those who may not follow best practices, ensuring quality and safety in electrical installations.
